Anti_Gender Based Violence
Kirehe District Hospital provides dedicated Anti–Gender-Based Violence (Anti-GBV) services to support survivors with confidential, compassionate, and timely care. The service offers medical treatment, injury management, emergency contraception, HIV post-exposure prevention, and psychosocial counseling. Trained clinicians and social workers ensure survivors receive safe, respectful assistance while maintaining privacy.
The hospital collaborates with police, local authorities, and community protection officers to facilitate legal reporting and link survivors to shelters and continued social support. Community outreach programs promote awareness, prevention, and early reporting of abuse. Despite resource constraints, the Anti-GBV unit plays a vital role in protecting vulnerable individuals and promoting safety throughout Kirehe District.
